In recognition of the building’s recent designation as a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of Interior, a ceremony and plaque unveiling will occur at noon, presided by August R. Carlino, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rivers of Steel Heritage Corporation.
An art auction Iron in the Hat will be held at 1 p.m followed by a live Bronze Pour- courtesy of Rivers of Steel Arts. Proceeds benefit W.A. Young Foundry, Pittsburgh Area Artist Blacksmiths Association (PAABA) & Appalachian Blacksmiths Association (ABA).
Blacksmithing demonstrations and guided tours will occur throughout the day. Refreshments available by the Rices Landing Boy Scout Trop 1168.
